Solder buildup inside Relow Oven

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 27 05:35:33 EDT 2014 | grahamcooper22

Are you doing PIN IN PASTE (intrusive reflow) ? If so, then paste can be dripping through the pcb holes and onto the oven bottom heaters / baffles . Or, if any of the SMT pads have vias in them, paste may drip through them if they are not sealed. Whe

Also, what about the gap spacing on your machine between the top of the second wave baffle to the bottom of the finger? Ours is at 5.7mm. Thx.

Hi all, Anyone familiar with BTU oven VIP-70. The control screen indicates that it is in IDLE mode. The recipe is running, but no heat is applied. The contactor for the heat is ON. All the electrical looks ok. I can't seem to be able to contact BTU,

BGA's ramp up rate in a convection oven

Doesn't make sense. Either your: * Oven is not operting properly [attach your profiler thermocouple to the baffle of each zone with a screw to check] ... OR * Conveyor speed is too high ... OR * Profiler is defective

Surface Tension vs Part Mass

One can only speculate on the response one would receive from a maintenance tech upon discovering the hardware scattered across the blower baffles in the reflow zone. ;)

Wave Solder

..and the choir is humming in 5 part harmonies. Personnally, I never gave much truck to Cpk stuff. Seems to be a high falutin way of showing the lowerlings that academics can manipulate numbers. Dazzle 'em with brilliance or baffle 'em with bull puke

Leadfree Dross in Wave Solderpot

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 25 11:37:17 EST 2005 | OverTheHill

I believe I read somewhere, that using leadfree solder in the wave, the dross will actually collect in the bottom of the solderpot. I can't remember where I read this (maybe a nightmarrish dream I had one night). If so, how do you remove it from the

Wave soldering problem - strange colour of the solder

Try to process the composite pallet through the wave without any flux and view volume of smoke and if any residue is deposited in the wave when it exits. My guess is that the pallets are releasing some binders that are high boiling and this in turn c
