IR /Convection Preheats

I have an Electrovert UPK 660c fitted with IR preheats top and bottom. We assemble a large range of multilayer backplanes and I was wondering if there are any advantages in changing to convection preheats.Has anybody got any views on the subject.

Right, brilliant thread! I concur the Novastar preheater is junk and the pot drosses much more than our Electroverts. Save your dough and buy a used machine first.

after reading some other problems i can tell you that we have an electrovert wave and are using alcohol base flux with convection preheaters. also we are spraying it on...not foaming. we are using an omega wave also. thanks again...if you need mor
