we have a new ersa ews500 wave machine and are experiencing difficulty in profiling for lead free. particular issue is reaching 110c preheat for large TH electrolitic caps while maintaining 110-170c on 1/4 watt resistors in same area

we have 4 bottom IR heaters and a 2 zone bottom Quartz heater (2 lamps/4 lamps) and 1 convection heater above zone 1 IR. we have very tight restrictions from customer and I could send profile view to your email if possible

So are you saying that you cannot reach 110C at 1 location without raising another location to excessive preheat temp? If so, sometimes slowing down the conveyor and dropping the preheat temps will help you get equal temps. I do not know this machi

Look to: * Your flux supplier's recommendations to baseline your recipe [similar to using your paste supplier's recommendations for setting your reflow recipe] * 7530 'Guidelines for Temperature Profiling for Mass Soldering (Reflow and Wave)' for gui

HI !!! We have the same oven! and yes profiling is hard, but not that bad. Check with the solder paste company for information, right out of my head dont remember for the temps that we use on mondayIcan show you my profile so that youhave an idea

We have been having problems with proper wetting when running mainly lead free but also leaded solder in our Ersa Hotflow 3. Solder either often looks grainy or doesn't flow over the whole pad. This is generally the case when my profile is 170 firs

That would be great Armando, thanks. Also, what changes might I make with metal clad light boards (LED). heat transference is tricky with these and the solder is not wetting well.

I sell wave solder optimizer in Philippines. I have sold many of this optimizer system. It cost less than US$10K. Most of my customer is happy with the performance except for some issues from customers like LCD not yet colored, uses RS232, upgrades

Keep in mind that device pitch, pad geometry, lead length and even alloy type will play a roll in your evaluation. I have an assembly that we run 10k pieces per month. One two-pin connector has a pitch of 1.27mm. Unfortunately, the pads are 0.007"

You are right, RSS profile is not the correct description. I am using a profile which heats up quickly to let the flux spread. Next linear up to activate the flux and prevent thermoshock. My experience is however, that small changes in this profile
