Minneapolis, MN - The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) announces the Call for Papers for the 2011 Pan Pacific Microelectronics Symposium, which will be held January 18-20, 2011 on the Big Island of Hawaii. The symposium focuses on the critical business markets and technologies of microelectronic packaging, interconnection, microsystems technology and assembly. The deadline for abstracts is July 16, 2010.

On behalf of the SMTA International Technical Committee, we invite you to submit a 300 word abstract of your research for the 2016 SMTA International 2016 technical conference in Rosemont, Illinois. Papers should describe significant results from experiments, emphasize new techniques, and contain technical, economic or appropriate test data. We are looking for papers on a variety of topics related to electronics manufacturing including advanced packaging/components, assembly, business/supply chain, emerging technologies, harsh environment applications, PCB technology, and process control. Materials must be original, unpublished and non-commercial in nature.

Kurtz Ersa Inc. is pleased to announce that it has hired Ian Orpwood as its North American Director of Sales-Soldering Tools and Equipment. Orpwood comes to Ersa from OK International, a Dover Company, where he served as their Global Director of Sales for the last number of years.
