Hi everyone, Is there any instrument that you are using to measure the tensile strenght of a solder joint?. I would like to measure that from smd and thru hole parts. I just want to take a few samples to verify the mechanical properties. Thanks

Texas Instruments has been completely lead free for something like 15 years. Can't you add alternate parts to your system?

Approaches are: * Thermal profiler that you use to calibrate your oven. * Any chromel-alumel [Type K] fine wire thermocouple with a cheapo instrument attached will do the job

Thinking about converting to GC60's and GI14 machines. Do any of you have opinions as to how good the machines really are?

I would agree up until 2005 - 2006. Universal did not have a good SMT solution. Their GSM's were limited and combined with the sanyo chip shooter - software was a nightmare. What years did you have universal?

Thanks for the tip! The DI tanks are brand new. Water quality is pretty good. The filtering is also good and the instrument in the water recycler measures about 12MOhm resistivity. Cheers, Luciano.
