Well done davef. when you said "* Protective gloves" is this the use once disposable gloves say a dentist would use? and what about anti-static precautions, sometimes your clothing might zip the electronic, but it still works, just that it might fa

Humidity & Temperature Range on SMT SHopfloor

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 23 14:15:02 EDT 2013 | charliedci

I would think the two main issues would be: 1)humidity too low affecting static control issues. 2)humidity too high affecting moisture sensitive components. Otherwise I agree with Evtimov, whatever equipment/personnel can handle.

ESD Shelving

Electronics Forum | Tue May 04 14:18:23 EDT 2021 | charliedci

The fact that it is plastic means it is probably a static generator, which is a bad thing. It also being plastic means it cannot be grounded. We use Metro carts (see pic) with each shelf wired to the next and cart dragging a chain across ESD waxed fl

What's The Dealy-O With Smocks?

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 20 16:56:53 EST 2005 | rsmith

I manufacture ESD supplies such as smocks and conduct ESD audits from time to time. With that said, here is my deal on smocks...ESD smocks work well to shield harmful static charges on clothing such as wool, silk, and synthetic fabrics. It is like we

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 08 15:22:54 EST 2006 | rgduval

Anyone have any experience with Displacement Soldering? We just came across a benchtop displacement soldering system, and I'm wondering how effective it might be for me. We're currently looking at a "best" solution for us right now for lead-free
