Hi All, We are gathering information on the environmental conditions in our facility, including the fresh air exchanges. A driving factor is any point of exhaust that goes to the outside air and the CFM that it pulls from the facility and if there

100 CFM at each exhaust if you're using room air, 25 CFM/ea if you're using nitrogen (according to my manual...never used nitrogen myself) per their specified delivery rates.

I just purchased a used Heller 1500 reflow oven for an SMT line that I am ting up. Looking for the CFM requirements for my exhaust venting. Does anyone out there have any information on what the minimum requirements are for pumping this exhaust out

It SHOULD be written on the machine. I have had/have 1500 Hellers that range from 60cfm to 500cfm Check the fine smtnet archives. http://www.smtnet.com/forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&Thread_ID=8859Message35065

Hi, What will be the effect in my soldering if my Reflow Oven's Exhaust system is not properly extracting air from the chamber. Recommended is 100 CFM but I am measuring 45 CFM. thanks,

i dont think it causes and soldering effects but i do believe that the fumes will escape out into your factory.

Hi What is CFM and how do you measure it? Richard

We are using AIM WS300 solder paste and are experiencing excessive voiding on our BGAs. We have exhausted reflow profile alternatives and just can't beat the voids. Has anyone had success with this paste on BGAs? If so how?

What are the typical environmental regulations in the US for reflow exhaust if any? We are using a lead free process although I assume it has more to do with the flux than the alloys used. Do we need to look into something like a Title V permit?

I have a self contained fume filtration system (for sale)for reflow ovens that will maintain your desired cfm. What I have heard from customer's is that there will be variations in your profiles thus causing some defects.
