Hi Steve, I had face problem before. What I did, add addition process which is screen print that apply adhesive. During thru-hole assemble, the components hold strong by the solder. Try this.

We see alot of missing component ( on/off ) after chip mounter, and had check on the component height, is correct. Nozzles had change, vaccume strong enough and table height. But we still have missing component.

Yo, Hussman69, you are one scary dude... in fact you remind me of that catbert... as an add-on, "metcal" has a good semi-auto BGA rework system and their engineering support is strong. then again, our engineers shd be optimizing the production lin

If your just getting into BGA assembly or rework, I strongly suggest taking this class. It covers profiling and considerationds for heat sensitive BGA'sin depth. http://www.pcb-repair.com/bgarework.htm

We're a contract manufacturer, so we are at the mercy of our customers sometimes. We strongly encourage fiducials on the board instead of the rails, but sometimes the customer doesn't want to spend the time or money to do it.

I strongly reconmend to switch over to Flexa. It's much easier and reliable than FujiCam and UniCam. Except the PCB's have to be very roboust to handle all the security fixtures. W. G

I myself am a graduate of the Electrical Engineering Technology program at SUNY Binghamton in Binghamton, NY, now known as Binghamton University. I would strongly recommend this university for your consideration.

Sue, Go to a local hardware store and get yourself some Castrol Super Clean. I think there is some stuff called Zep that works well also. A strong solution of powdered Tide and hot water will well too.

if opens in same aria check for mask to via coverage for that pad. We had vias pulling solder from pad. We did not have totally opens but capalry from via was as strong as capalry to ball / pad creating small joint aria.

I would strongly suggest you run a qualification test program on all your boards to verify the design and the manufacturing processes. Only visual inspection seems pretty risky approach, even if the boards were produced in-house.
