Steve, I have just one question. Do you place any other QFP's that have 20mil pitch or less? Do you see the same problems? You might be able to solve the problem using other methods. If not, will the ENIG finish on the boards be a profitable move. I

Thanks Dave F for you 2 cents. You bring up some important points that what one person is doing isn't neccesary right for us. Someone might burn in their boards for 10 hours in temperature but their ramp time is only an hour versus someone else is

Nick and Dave, Did I miss the question? What does it matter what pattern the glue dots are in, whatever vision you use will have to read the individual dots anyway. If your glue machine is any good you should be able to get away with simply

All, I have a reoccurring issue with the Alpha-Metals WS601, water-soluble paste in that the size 20 nozzle of the auger-type dispenser on my Camalot Gemini II clogs up rather frequently. Every few hours we are having to go in and clear out the nozz

I would check trace-pad interactions as you may be robbing heat from one of the pads causing uneven heating during reflow. Also, measure paste deposits on trouble parts to see volume depsoted across the pads. You should easily be able to do 0402s w
