Make sure the pulleys on the motor and lead screw have not come loose. Look for damaged encoder wires in the cable way. If all of this mechanical stuff checks out then you probably have a bad encoder. Jerry

Have you checked the table itself. It seen it where either a PCB lifter or adjustble rail brake is operating properly.

Just thought I'd post and let you all know, SMT Research helped me identify the issue here. Turns out it's the outer moveable rail on the XY table. The clamp bracket brakes were in bad shape, and the outer rail was slipping.

At my previous employer we ran HSP - GSM lines. Some sites used CIMBridge, others Unicam. We all used UCT52, not USOS, for the HSPs. At that time we had 4796's, 4791's, and USOS 4.X on our GSMs.

We use materials such as G10, durapol, or FR4. We put a lot of holes in the fixtures so that only enough material is left to support the board during reflow to prevent sag/ warp or whatever. We also try and keep all bot side material in unpopulated

I agree with Pete. We use Delmat for SMT carriers. I've never used FR4 but I guess my predecessor did. They didn't hold up very well, but the Delmat lasts.
