We are using Alpha's OM-338-PT with great results. The PT means pin testable which was selected because its residues are a little softer and clean slightly better.

We were using AIM WS485 SAC305 and AIM NC257 SAC305 and we had problems with voiding and AIMs narrow process windows. Now we are using Indium3.2 and Indium8.9 with much better results.

Forum: Has anyone experience conformal coat peeling after HASS and the failure mechanism being low surface energy attributed to the solder mask?
Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 09 06:28:11 EDT 2009 | qualityguy
We have different Solder mask 'gloss' and 'satin' the gloss has a surface energy =40 dynes. The test evidence to date is strong correlation between surface energy, mask type, HASS failure

Hello, another SME is saying the solder resist cure level is suspect. I have had a industry SME make reference to this too. Adjusting the cure of the resist changes the surface energy

We don't view this as "board delamination." It looks more like "solder mask bubbling." It may be the picture. Please describe the issue or enclude additional pictures.

push the "bubling" and it springs back. It does not look like solder mask. We may have to fight with board house as they don't think it's their problem. Do you know any way to find the real reason? Any idea or help will be appreciated.

We have seen this exact same problem. Our vendor agreed it was their problem and also agreed it was a moisture issue within the PCB layers, not the solder mask. We have taken to baking our boards, especially when they are manufactured during the late

have you try to change the stencil apertures to another figure like the one that look like a baseball home? I was having that problem and some solder beads and with that I was able to decrease the tombstones
