Do you have a stencil wipe step after every six boards? If so, the wipe either automatic or manual needs to be optimized. Either less solvent or more time for the solvent to evaporate off.

I'm sorry, I should clarify. The average is one out of six boards. It's not consistant as to how many are good before a really bad one. Sometimes two in a row, sometimes ten. Right now we are wiping every 2 boards. Antonio

One other thing you may want to look at is your nitrgen settings and the difussers. If you don't have them correct, you can also see bridging and icicles.

I am currently cleaning solder paste and adhesive stencils and misprinted substrates manually by using IPA, chem wipes, Q-tips, etc. Can you recommend a machine and chemistry that will clean all these applications?

Metal foil is pulling away from the screen.

We use an ultrasonic stencil cleaner (not Smart Sonic) and have problems with stencils falling apart. The metal foil is pulling away from the screen. Is this a common problem with ultrasonic stencil cleaners?

Fine-Pitch Applications

We are looking at some applications that will require fine-pitch and possibly ultra fine-pitch. I am currently using a spray type batch cleaner for cleaning our stencils. Will this be adequate for fine-pitch (15 � 20 mil pitch) applications?
