What is the disadvantage of palladium plating instead of gold plating? I saw many advantage of palladium plating in term of hardness, wear resistance, and price but why most of the PCB Industries still use gold in PCB pad? Thank you

I was asked how we verify that the thermocouples INSIDE the reflow oven are calibrated. That seems pretty impractical to me. Has anyone come across this ?

Yes I would, most of our old Yamaha machines (before 2005) will do 30-35 microns @ 3 sigma with the fine camera option. Our Jukis with His res camera's will hit it too. You should be OK with most things after 1997 with the right camera choice (whic

ENEPIG or Imm Pd? Concerns about palladium as a solderability protection are: * Palladium is more difficult to process in fab than gold * Palladium solder alloys can be brittle, similar to gold, without proper soldering process and/or specification/

Hege, there is no actual calibration of the thermocouple itself. You can however verify that they read correctly. Heller sells an option on their reflow ovens specifically for this purpose. I hoping that someone chimes in here that is NADCAP certifi

I too am hoping a NADCAP guy might jump in here. I would like to know how this portion of the question is handled. Evidence of PM, periodic cleaning of EQ and tools, no issues. Thermocouple calibration? You would think that evidence of Oven CAL

Good day all, I wanted to get a quick poll from the folks running SAC305 in their selective soldering equipment. How are final results? How repeatable is the process, any machine related failures? pumps? nozzles? etc... I am just looking to get a

You mean you don't pull all of your thermocouples out of the ovens once a year and send them out for calibration? - lol Tough question. You have a calibrated datalogger. (I assume) You have an oven with preset zone temps, each zone controlled by a
