The ramp sets the stage for flux activation, and if ramping in a linear fashion, burning off some of the volatiles, but yet preserving the activators. The ramp is also intended to preheat the SMDs to prevent thermal shock. Most solder paste data sh

Ramp rate is measured in degrees per second. Max and min temps are not required to to establish "ramp rate". The difference between parts, like I was describing is Delta T. But, ramp rate is a generation from this as well. Most component manufact

Hi, Just to clarify the terms, traditional : aka : Ramp-Soak-Spike (RSS) profiling method tent : aka : Ramp-To-Spike (RTS) profiling method By search engines (eg. Yahoo), you can find more example profiles for your ref.

Hi, Guys, Can anybody tell me what kind of reflow profile is best for a no clean solder paste: Ramp-Soak-Spike or Ramp-to Spike? The paste we are using is AIM 293DX2B. Thanks a lot.

What type of profile are you using (soak or straight ramp)? You may need to reduce the ramp rate or increase the time at soak. Jerry
