Motherboard become NO POST when humidity increase to 90%

Dave, I would only agree with you when you talk about low residue (water based) fluxes. In low residue (alcohol based) fluxes you can use non water soluble acids, so in the event you still have flux residues on the board water has no effect on them.

Re: Corroding Solder Joints

Rick, The first line of my message should have read as: "The best way to clean water soluble flux is with heated, deionized water." Don't know what happened to it in cyberspace. Jim

Flux Conductivity

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 13 13:50:57 EDT 2002 | ksfacinelli

A couple of years back we saw the same issue. It was when we were using a water soluble flux on a post wash assemble for a power switch. This was corrected when we switched to a no clean flux product. The appearance of the no clean products is les

Cleaning Water Soluble Flux After Touch-up

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 26 13:31:05 EDT 2004 | Dreamsniper

Hi, I always caught our touch-up operators cleaning touched up boards improperly. Either by just wiping with lint free clothe the solder joints of the components after touch up or by just going behind the aqeuous cleaner and scooping some water then

Water-soluble flux vs test socket cleaners?

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 13 18:06:08 EDT 2015 | caurbach

I'm not familiar with any "test socket cleaners", but I will tell you that water soluble flux is designed for a soldering application so it requires heat to activate. Not sure how effective it would be at removing oxides at room temperature. Second

Solder not reflowing properly

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I got pulled off onto other projects and was not able to work on the solution to the problen until recently. The solution we have come up with is to change from no-clean flux based solder paste to water sol

white residue after wash

At this moment in time we are using water soluble solder paste on our PCBs these are cleaned using water only, agitated with ultrasonics. After drying a white/grey residue is left around solder joints. Reflow profile is fine and a reliable wash proce

we will be using water soluble solder paste. cleaning will be for smt assemblies only. waste water will be treated prior to disposal. as far as testing for cleanliness, any suggestions or recommendations on test equipment would be greatly appreciated

Re: Dek ProFlow Head

There are concretions that form inside the chamber when using a water soluble paste. They start forming and affecting print as early as 2 days. This is apparent no matter what type of print head you may be using. There has been over 30 water soluble

I using water-soluble solder paste, the solder paste recommended, the peak temperature is 215 deg C, the dwell time above 183 deg C is 60-90 sec. **How I can do, the flux in solder paste is active enough to remove the corrosion on the Cu leads to get
