Hi, There are many companies shifting lead free solder wave. My question is can anyone give me idea if we can still use our old solder wave machine for lead free eventhough the solder pot is stainless steel 316L? Our solder bath has titanium nozzl

Micro crack for lead free wave solder

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 01 06:59:02 EDT 2005 | Joseph

Dear all, We observed visible micro crack at top side of solder fillet during lead free wave solder process. We did not see any visible micro crack at bottom side, and it always located at joints of transformer. Any input be much appreciated. Best

Hello Could somebody inform us about real consumption of lead free solder alloy SN100C on your wave solder process. We do not use some antiaxidant and had had alloy consumption about 1 kg per hour. What is your experiance? All sugestion will be well

Printing problem, water soluble paste with gold plating PCB..

You have provided very little information. Two similar possibilites come to mind: poor pad solderability protection and old boards. POOR SOLDERABILITY PROTECTION: Maybe the nickel plating under the gold is oxidized, contaminated, or otherwise very

No-Lead solder defect - No solder on pads

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 22 12:41:17 EST 2003 | Marc Simmel

No clean solder paste. One further observation ... the parts have a metal shell and are 'floating' high on the paste. Though there is wetting on the metal shell, it doesn't seem to sink as far as it should and this could be lifting the soldertails f

Yes, we use solder paste, solder bar and solder wire from different manufactureres for 1PCB assembly. And, what JAX said, we never mixed solder paste from different manufactures and used.

Mixing different manufacturers solder pastes

Will the flux residue from solder paste A come into contact with flux from solder paste B? If so you better do some tests. There is always a possibility of a bad reaction between 2 fluxes. You need to test to make sure. Jerry

So, your scenario is: * Lead Free Solder Paste * Lead Free Reflow Profile * RoHS Components * Non-RoHS (Sn-Pb HASL plated)PCB If that's the case, you should be just fine running your Lead-Free process. There is literature on the topic of lead
