Thanks guys. I'm always getting feedback from purchasing and design that we should just put this info on the spec sheet, but I've always argued that the vendors will either ignore it, or it will become a cost driver. Thanks John S.

Don't know a thermal couple that will meet your "+/- 1 degree C in a 700 degree C" requirement. Look here: http://www.pentronic.se/eng/teori/termoel/termo9.asp Anyhow, have you considered screwing the leads to a terminal block?

Read http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=1208 And pay attention to CJC or cold junction compensation. Normally the CJC isn't much but with the accuracy you demand you had better plan for it.

Stefan The Z hight required for a MELF will depend on the design of nozzle used on your machine. If it has a "V" tip you should measure the hight of the component on a nozzle then subtract the nozzle hight.

Anyone have experience with SMT fuse clips for automotive "mini" fuses? We have a new design coming down and I have questions about feeding, placement accuracy, and repair.

Thanks for the info - still do not know what was designed in - whoever laid out the PCB is no longer with the company, and nobody knows what he was planning to use.
