We currently have a project requiring us to place multiple QFN devices (of various sizes). The pick an place is not a problem at all, where we are seeing 'problems' is that 3 of the devices are being place on locations where the ground pad have plugg

Just been quoted GBP500 for 5kg (2.7L) of Galden LS-230. Don;t know if the lower temp non-leadfree stuff is cheaper If anyone in the UK has a small qty they'd sell me for experimentation, (e.g. old non-leadfree stuff they no longer use) please get in

SnPb Wave Soldering with SN100C HASL

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 14 15:18:49 EDT 2010 | jmedernach

Hi Phil, If the areas that are "turning gray" are masked, it would lead me to believe that you're simply oxidizing the SnCuNiGe finish on those areas. It's unsightly but not an actual defect. I think it's simply the biproduct of using SN100C as a s

SACX0107 Solder for Wave

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 14 21:22:16 EDT 2010 | mag10

does anyone have experience with SACX0107 solder from Alphametals in Wave compared to SN100 or SAC305? I see better price and good features like less dross. However, the alloy looks like non-eutectic and it has 10 degree difference between liquidus a

Conformal Coat over No-Clean

A customer wants to coat a no-clean assembly to cut cost and cycle time. I know what wave flux I can use to make it work, but the Indium SMQ92J paste we use causes dewets. Any other no-clean pastes out there that play nice with acrylic?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 30 19:31:40 EDT 2010 | jry74

Tim, try and incorporate an inline wash system. We use one with a surfactant and it cleans the "NO CLEAN" fluxes well. If you dont have an inline system, you can manual clean the boards with an surfactant and IPA. You can also do an ionic contamin

PCB bows after wave soldering

There are some good suggestions here...reflow pallets, and copper balancing. We would also suggest verifying that your problem is not caused by moisture. How much time passed between first side and second side reflow, and how humid is the environme
