You may want to check your stencil aperture design too. The base ball pad design worked fine to solve my tombstone problem.

Does anyone happen to have a .dwg of a BGA, any size BGA would do. If you have one and don't mind sharing it please zip it up and email to dphilbrick@qualcon1.com Thanks

This is a technical forum. Equipment "needs" should be posted on the Equipment Mart- see in buttons on the left.

OK, here is stupid question #..... oh, I lost track. While looking at a BOM I notice a lot of parts with "SMT" in the description. This is obviously Surface Mount. What do "SMB" and SMD" mean? I just know I will feel stupid when I read the answer.
Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 01 12:23:06 EST 2002 | russ
Tell us what the rest of the descriptions are. for example SMD can mean surface mount device or if they are decribing a tant cap it probably means "D" or 7343 package, I see diodes labeled as SMB, SMA, etc.. which also relates to size. So who knows?
Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 01 13:19:16 EST 2002 | soupatech
like this.... D13 Diode, Rctfr, SK12 1A, 20V Schottky "SMB" or F1 Pollyswitch, SMD300, 60V, 3A @20 celcius, "SMD"

In that context the "SMB" and "SMD" refers to the package or "case" type the mfg. uses. See the component mfgs. data sheet, last page usually that shows case outline drawing. These are usually avbl on the mfgs. website in a PDF.

Before I waste a lot of time and parts..... Will the Fuji CP3 place a melf diode without a special nozzle? If so, what size would you reccomend for best accuracy?
Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 04 17:03:11 EST 2002 | soupatech
Thanks, I'll try the 1mm first. So there IS a MELF nozzle? Iwould try the IP2 but they came on a big reel and I have no feeders for that.
Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 04 17:34:40 EST 2002 | pjc
Yeah, there's a MELF nozzle. Check with Fuji or one of the many after-market guys, mostly Asian suppliers. Big reel, no big deal, unravel it and reload in 7" reels.
