I have been using Alpha 856 for about 8 years. It is an excellent flux. Today we are using it in a new flow solder machine that has a spray fluxer and it seems to be working fine. I can be contacted at jlalicker@amitulsa.com

Hi John, I have used some wave fixtures with titanium inserts. I ordered from Pentagon EMS (503)924-2747... Turnaround time and quality are excellent. Regards, Hiram

Tin is an excellent solvent. So, whether using lead-free or leaded solder, your wire will neck to one degree or another if the material of the wire dissolves in the metal of the solder.

Air Academy Associates has a nice SPC package that has the PFMEA calculations built in to it. It also does Cp/Cpk/regression analysis, MSA, et al.You can combine it with a reaally user friendly DOE software for about $250. Both use Excel. Brian

Is there a way that you could plot the data points of your profile into excel and post somewhere? Or can you give us some data on what your profile looks like? What exactly does this board look like? thickness, size, copper weight?

TMC, I yoinked my requisition for the oven per your response. I've gotten so caught up in other things I forgot to ask about thermal profile data. Thanks for the reminder and excellent suggestion.

If you are not talking about a large number of BOMs, the cheapest way would probably be to do a CSV export of the BOMs and write an Excel macro in VBA to do the actual comparison.
