Gee this was a fun tread. I guess you mean Univeral Instrument Corporation's products. I would give them a call since they have a training center in Binghamton, NY and may have what you need. Trust me, They need the business and should jump all ov

Hi I probably shouldn't say, Yet unless you are big or have some reoccuring kind of work with the government or ??, I wouldn't use the EMPF DaveF listed. They are now really the ACI (American Competitive Institute) and are not really the old EMPF

Quad

Support is ok but parts could be a problem...If you are buying an older machine you have to be careful because you may not be able to get parts.Tyco is still selling machines new and/or refurbed but there are lots of deals to be made elsewhere (used

QSA series was a joint project, but Quad machines still use feeders made by Samsung, or Samsung makes the feeders Quad designed (whatever). QSoft has two different evolutions, Qsoft(1) went to Samsung, and Qsoft(2) stayed with Quad. I'm sure they h

Sorry, what I meant was that they don't provide a duration for that liquidus + 20C value that I've seen bantered about here and on TechNet. They only provide the same stock time above liquidus of 30-90 that they've always used. I'd like to see refe

OK, so the issue is with the variability of the alloys on the soldering surfaces and the subsequent variability of reflow temps. Sounds reasonable (actually obvious, now that I think about it), especially on the component side. We only use HASL fin

Stenciling chipbonder.....

Elongated slots!! Our older runs are a pain sometimes with parts (1206, 0805 chips) twisting as they go through cure. I'm sure that its not all due to the dots, but I'm sure that it doesn't help either. We don't see this effect on our runs that us

Chipbonder is best applied with a stencil. Too bad on the dispenser purchase. Little hint, use a Kapton Stencil. You can have them laser cut and can get them as thick as you want. Another advantage is the ability to make shapes etc for cleaning

Nitrogen Generators

Nitrogen generators are becoming more popular than ever recently. They are being used for companies involved in food preparation, laser cutting and the electronics market to name a few. Purity, flow rates and pressure determine the system cost and va

Wave Soldering - Icicling/Bridges

I've seen this problem on more than one wave,What i've done is to run the conveyor a little faster, use a solder temp of 505 degrees F,and most important is to make sure that the solder is flowing over the back. this will keep the thin buildup of dros
