Occasionally when circuit boards are manufactured, there may be issues with solder mask coverage. It is not uncommon to re-run back through this process to fix missing or thin areas. This can causes the traces to become higher which in turn raises th

I cannot see the logic connection between HIP and RSS or RTS, or between HIP and solder paste volume because volume is ok. Did you measured the BGA solder profile?

Some comments on the previous post: Be careful when looking at the proportion of SMT defects that are solder defects - you may very well find that only a small few of them originate at the screen printing step. As for specification limits for pas

Hi, actually this point was raised a cuppa times, from the past discussion forums... thats why I posed this questions once again *yawn* to find out any new delvelopments in relation to paste Volume giving accuracy??? Obviously it doesn't seem to h

There is evidence of lead being used in soldering 5000 years ago in Mesopotamia. Not a big issue for most people doing SMT but the poster should also understand why percent metal is adjusted for different solder paste alloys. You print by volume b

Cartridges/dispenser systems supply even paste volume to the screen. This will help provide the most consistent squeegee roll as well as paste deposition on PCB. Messier, though = much printer maintenance. Some people also like to use a caulking g

Hello everybody, Two questions came up during an audit (old topics once more): 1. we are not checking the solder paste volume/pad height after printing - others are using an AOI, but is it really necessary? We just do visual inspection randomly. We

Didn't you hear? Fendelaz went out of business and sold the rights to the Magnaplancil to Amahlmahay. Sure, all the standard variables still affect the print quality (aka registration and volume) but if the machine controls everything but paste di

Here is a list of companies that have solder paste inspection equipment that use a laser for measurements www.gsilumonics.com www.orbotech.com/products_assembly_main.asp www.fa.panasonic.co.jp/products/smt/inspection/main/ipm_e.html

There is no specification for solder paste height, just as there is no specification for paste volume. Focus on producing a fillet that meets J-STD-001. You make the choices that produce the end result.
