For bare board design for test, try: * IPC-2221 - Generic Standard On Printed Board Design * Section standard for the board type [eg, IPC-2222 - Sectional Design Standard For Printed Board For Organic Printed Boards]

Steve...I believe if you go into the gui software and go to database...database network config.....then local config.....change that to c:\database. I believe the error is network related and there are workarounds.....let me know....

bobpan, Finally got the Qsoft to work. We were not setting the Shared RAM resources IRQ's, I/O and Memory. Now we are trying to get the RT to talk to the GUI. Will update on our progress

Got the Gui and Rt to talk finally. It was as simple as receding the boards. Evidently they can move in the edge connectors. Thanks all.

Do any of you know of a third party TYCO support person in the midwest or northern United States? I need Mirae and Q-Soft training. THanks.

Folks, Anybody know if Sony SI-E1000-III & SI-E2000 placement machines are any good? Are the reliable and consistent down to 0402 components? Thanks Mark

Those are model numbers of Sony placement machines. They were introduced a few years ago but I haven't seen them since.

You will have a lot of problems with spare parts, they came from Japan, also service will be very poor, depends on where you are located, where are you?

You may also want to investigate an Ionic contamination tester. You can check with Alpha, Westek or an equipment broker to find a used tester. If you switch to OA fluxes this will be an important test to perform on a regular basis.
