Folks, we've recently upgraded to Heller MKIII reflow ovens with Gen 9 cooling units. We're running N2 atmosphere at 1000ppm O2 and Kester256 solder paste. We're seeing a big problem with flux residues building up in the cooling section of the

In addition to what robqd3 said, just because you can set your oven to 300 C doesn't mean that (a) it's providing 300 C air, or (b) that your oven will survive the temperatures required to reflow your boards properly. Confirming (a) does mean pro

The P&P machine uses very modest power when idling. It draws burst of power when accelerating the gantry. So, the yearly power consumption is going to be a LOT less than nameplate figures. If it is largely air-driven, then you have to factor in th

We're in the process of purchasing a couple new reflow ovens. The ovens that we're looking at have a standard clearance of 1.00"(25.4mm), when using the Edge Rail Conveyor. We can pay a few bucks extra in increase that to 1.5" (38.1mm). I think that

With our last two ovens (Heller and now BTU) spanning the past 7 or 8 years I did it once a month and have never seen any issues. Reflow ovens these days with PID controllers know exactly what they are doing inside well before you run a profiler thro

Hi Small ovens work fine if the settings are correct and I seriously doubt 55cm/min is right. Profile it and speed down to around 35cm/min. Increase first zone to around 170 keep second at 208 but increase last to around 280 BUT profile to check it

Let me be the first to suggest; Get a better oven. 5 zones minimum. If you can't, you will have to have some way of profiling the board. Does the oven have thermocouple ports? If not you will have to buy some kind of termperature datalogger. Mayb

Hi, I am trying to reduce some 0402 cap tombstones. The main cause is the pad spacing is a little too far apart and the parts are as tall as they are wide .5mm I am stuck with the pad spacing for a while. All other parts are soldering well, even 0

I personally would be wary of heller1707EXL and as I have many customers that find them not too repeatable due to cross profile variance... MarkIII not sure about. Always check perspective oven for this if you can...simple trick is to run blank PC

I have been trying to get the profile right for this part(OMAP3503DCBC) , but still struggle. I'm using the Herller 1809 MKIII oven. I look at the profile recomended by TI and still issue with the solder ball collaps and wetting. My peak temp @256
