No-clean is definitely a cheaper process. It will eliminte cleaning. Some issues associated with no-clean are: -- the flux stain left behind on the PCB will create a cosmetic issue. You may want to seek advice from your customers. -- next, the flux

Why are you printing paste on test via? In the old days, we probed soldered pads to cushion impact force of probing. Is that still a reasonable practice?

Hi All: Can you tell me specifically if you converted an exiting product made with Clean process using WS609 or compatible to 'No-Clean' process. We have to convert assemblies from current clean process at a CEM to No-Clean process in our own factor

| Hello everybody. | Remember I posted some questions on the smtnet regarding placing the thru hole connector using paste and reflow(pin in hole). I have able to accomplish the process succcesfully.....but I have a problem. The boards are failing at

No need to clean unless the sticky residue is an issue for you. If you are working with RF, it could be an issue. You may have probe contact problems as well with ICT and FT fixtures. We use a low residue flux for our wave solder machines (Kester

there is a oven setup wizard, I think you should be able to adjust probe offsets there. are the probes original? maybe they are replaced with inadequate ones? also, contacts on TDMs are weak, give them a good clean if you havent already. if you get "

Let's be more specific. Why do you need to clean the boards? I assume it is for testing purposes, probe contact concerns and the like. This is the only economical reason I can think of to clean no-clean flux residue from your assemblies. Before y

Guys, two things: 1 Fluxes have different probing chaacteristics. Consider broadening your horizons. 2 Look at SMTnet thread ... ICT Fixtures No-Clean Flux - Cartman 14:04:14 03/16/2000

Yes, but even high force probes are not a cure-all. You still get flux build-up over time which can cause contact issues. The best way is to use a low residue flux in the wave to minimize what's left on the pcb post-wave.

We still use Via as test points. so we need to paste Via. Pasting will make better contact with probes compare to test via without solder.
