Hi Simond, The baking process is likely to remove any moisture after the cleaning process. We wouldn't want any moisture trapped as this might cause delamination if the package is subject to subsequent heating/reflow process. Hence there's a staging

50 ppm oxygen was on half joints reflowed in air. 3d Human factors PCB pad cleanliness: Handling of bare board pads creates excessive voiding. Print rejection: Cleaning of OSP pads with acetone or isopropanol increases voiding.

I am looking for an inertable reflow oven which will produce ROLs of less than 10 ppm. My current reflow oven will reduce oxygen levels to 10 ppm but only when using excessive nitrogen gas (4000 scfh). In reality less gas flow may reduce oxygen lev

Cavaits are: * N2 is not required for NC fluxes. * We assume you're talking reflow soldering. We assume that you want to be below 1000 ppm O2. Want does your flux supplier say?

Don't know why it would....the available oxygen shouldn't change any. You could always use nitrogen if you were worried about that. ;)

You should have a a gauge on your wave that you could convert to PPM. Save you a few bucks and headaches.
