Nitrogen use in reflow and wave

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 18 23:56:27 EDT 2002 | Abelardo Rodriguez

I'm trying to get a better understanding of the cooking process of pcb's. The use of nitrogen in reflow and wave ovens. Seems to have a wide margin of acceptance as a standard gas to prevent oxidation of metals in the board. Has any one heard or us

SPC software use with vision check data

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 05 13:37:20 EST 2003 | msivigny

Hello James, It sounds like the system that's being used to gather this data is an AOI system. I will investigte this more because I'm very curious of the process in which this works. I'll keep an eye out for someone using this setup and may get back

Nitrogen use in reflow and wave

Electronics Forum | Sat Apr 20 10:12:16 EDT 2002 | davef

If people use an inert gas, they use nitrogen for mass soldering. Inert gases get progressively more expensive as you move down the periodic table. Many times no-clean flux is less active than other flux types. So, people use an inert gas to lower

What to use SAC305 or SAC405??

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 17 01:45:16 EDT 2007 | Jane

There are several alloys had been using in the industry. For SMT: most people use SAC305 For Wave: most of them use SAC305,SC100C,SCS7,and SACX0307. Of course, different alloy composition have its own recommended profile. There is no such rule tellin

Sn100C - anyone use this at Reflow?

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 12 13:26:16 EDT 2009 | rgduval

We're using Sn100C at wave. Well, to be fair, in a static solder pot; as we don't have a lead-free wave machine in operation at the moment. We've had generally good experiences with the SN100. Good soldering; some blow holes, but, since we're usin

What material to use for component staking?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 18 15:07:12 EST 2010 | mikesewell

Usually the print specifies the material since the design is qualified with it in place. I've used several from Scotchweld 2216, Scotchweld DP190, Hysol E-20HP, to NASA outgassing qualified Masterbond 10HT.

ESD kapton tape for SMT production use

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 21 00:44:30 EST 2014 | leardkattiya

Hi All, I have a question to ask. Do we really need ESD kapton tape to be use inside SMT line/ production? Anyway the purpose of the kapton tape is to protect gold finger/ wirebond area from solder splatter. Please advise.

ESD kapton tape for SMT production use

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 22 11:07:42 EST 2014 | leardkattiya

Understand that one..but the main issues is..do i really need to use ESD tape or non-ESD tape..since as we all know kapton tape is already expensive..if ESD kapton tape required in SMT line..the cost will be more higher.
