Good morning, What is considered "high frequency" ,.i.e. Mhz,GHz,etc., when we talk about possible issues with NO-clean flux residues and product's application? I appreciate your help on this... Have a good one! George

I had problems with very simple timing circuits in the kilohertz range with leadfree NC solder pastes. Never saw the problem with lead NC solder paste. Run lead free no clean and clock was off. Run lead no clean and clock was right on.

I have a customer who runs A-D applications with 5GHz analog and it is 100% no clean. The only answer that will be acceptable is what works for your circuit design.

Does anyone have a solution to using thick tape on quad feeders? The feeders are not strong enough to handle the thicker carrier tape. This causes much downtime and frustration.

Not sure what you mean by thicker embossed tape. I've only seen one thickness as far as the tape, but I have seen electrolytic caps on tape that were too tall for the feeders.

I have experienced this problem on the Quad thinpro feeders only. I have not had any issues with their standard feeders.

Especially on capacitors, the tape is so thick that the motor starts to slow down and does not advance the parts fast enough or not at all. This happens on regular 8mm.

The feeders have 8 pins, so I believe they are 12 v. But will double check

Some guys used to hang weight on the spent tape with a binder clip to help pull the tape through. Not ideal of course, but may help in a pinch...if you try it, you'll have to move the weight(s) up every so often.
