I used to rework many types of BGA's including ceramic. We always preheated the whole board to around 115 c before attempting to remove or place. Now I find myself in a new company with different ideas. Do any of you have a site that has exact rec

Screenprint Characterisation and PCB landscape analysis.

Q1. As part of a Final Year Thesis I am currently undergoing an in-deph study of the Screenprinting process for MPM 3000 Screenprinters. Ultimately I will be setting up control charts on line. Does anybody have suggestions in this area ?, I have alot

Wave Soldering Ceramic PCB's - a result

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 16 10:49:35 EDT 2001 | JohnW

Dave, we try and keep the temperture that a BGA is exposed to at wave solder below 150 deg C. At this temperature it's unlikely that you'll get near to starting secondary reflow of the device or that you'll grow any significant amount of intermetall

PCB finish - Printhead vs Squeegee

Hello Jeff, I found some good information from what I read until now...so thank you! I have two questions: 1) What finish did you use on the PCB for 0201 ? I think with an aperture so small (12x15mils) tin plated is impossible, what do you think

Measuring PCB Stress during the assembly process

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 27 12:18:08 EST 2001 | Justin

We are currently looking for a way to measure pcb stress during our assembly process. We would like to get an idea of what amount of stress (flex) the boards are undergoing. We would also like to use this to compare a few different processes--for e

Wave Profiling a Ceramic SMT Cap

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 02 13:31:55 EST 2002 | PeteC

The rule-of-thumb is to follow the flux mfg.'s recommended profile to achieve their specified top side PCB temperature before making contact with the wave. Typical top side PCB temps are 100-120deg.C. Your wave contact time should be around 2 seconds
