Hi there, where can I find some hints about placing the temperature sensors on the pcb when determining the reflow profile? I'm interested especially in the case of a pcb having BGA's. Thanks for your answers ! gheorghe

Home plate design is great for avoiding beads and tombstoning in some cases, but it will not help you when the spacing is too far apart. It will make it worse. You need a good even screen and accurate placement.

Does anyone have any experience in using solder scavenging systems? We have very tight land areas for RF shields (nearest component can be 2mm away in some cases). We are aware that both SRT and AIRVAC have such systems. Thanks! BWET

We apply temporary solder mask off line, using a programmable dispense head. Works fine. Purchasing a placement machine with a dispense head usually only works-out well for the sales-type. Not in every case, but usually.

We have the same problems. We are using Universal equipment. In our case as I suspect in yours its a residue on the LED's not the machine.
