Wow, that is sad. He was always doing neat stuff like that ... scuba diving in Aqaba, Jordan or skiing in Zermatt, Switzerland. He was generous with his great knowledge of soldering. I'll miss him. Steve, thanks for posting this.

Hola, seems we bought some fishy parts from a vendor in Germany. One is for sure fake, the others we don't know yet. Does someone here knows some reliable counterfeit testing labs? Best would be one in Hong Kong

I saw zigzag tracks on some PCB layouts. What is the actual requirement and advantage of having this kind of tracks?

There is no advantage for fabricators or assemblers. In high speed memory busses, designers zigzag the traces to keep all of the traces within a certain length of each other.

Exactly. And now a day, we are sourcing quite a number of alternative component. (e.g. IC, capacitor...) Template matching may took long time to calibrate the variances too. Desperate to look for cyberoptics representative to have a presentation

I would go with Algorithm based, the reliability is better that I have seen in the feild. Tom Andersen

Anyone try Cyberoptics SAM technology before? My company do not have so many talent engineers to handle algorithm tuning :( What to do?
