Thermal Conductivity Of Copper

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 18 17:56:26 EST 2000 | Dave F

Does the thermal conductivity of a copper trace on a printed circuit board change as the copper oxidizes? Is the oxide on copper a thermal insulator? If so, should it be considered in an analysis of thermal resitivity between a ground plane and a h

Dave, When we converted the Humiseal thermal conductivity info into W/m-*C we came up with .167 - .209. Did we do somthing wrong with our conversion?

Could you get it in on a reel and use an SMT tape feeder to place?

Yes,thermal conductivity does decrease since all metal oxides are insulators to varying degrees, and this should be considered in trermal analyses. It is best to protect the copper against oxidation, however.Again,I suggest you include this question in

Hi Thus anybody here have experience on Thermal Conductive Adhesive Sheets? We have one IC component that need to be place with this material to fill in the gap between the pcb and space on its body. Currently we are performing this manually by, a
