To you wavesoldering guru's. When wavesoldering with a selective wavesoldering carrier What causes the white vapor type residues around the areas of the carrier which are exposed to the wave ? My Initial reaction was to high of A Pressure for the spr

| I am trying to find out if it is possible to wavesolder TSOP's. If so , what should the footprint be like, and how should the wavesolder process be set up ? | Alternatively can PLCC's be wavesoldered ? | I would greatly appreciate any help. | Rega

We also had that issue and feel, as Mr wolfgang feels, That handling or packaging may be an issue. The adhesive bond may be partially fractured and releasing in the wavesolder.

Wavesolder PCBs encounter pinholes

Hi, It is in Celcius. Baking at 2hrs at 110C , did not help. The problem is consistent and happens at random locations. Fresh flux and new foaming tank has not done the trick also. But I am looking into the contamination issue under scope.

Re: Wavesolder PCB Temp. Settings

| What are the factors that go into determining PCB Board temperature requirements for the Wavesolder process? Most of the recipes I've seen call for preheating the PCB to around 230F - 250F. This temp is about 210F - 230F below the typical solder te

Wavesolder PCBs encounter pinholes

Pin Holes can be caused by many things. Does the problem come and go?? If so, see if there is a correlation to lot numbers on the boards or vendor. This could indicate a supplier issue.. possibly with the mask. Look at your soldered assemblies und

2512's To Wave or not to Wave????

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 27 12:19:17 EDT 1999 | John

Has anybody had experience wavesoldering 1 watt 2512 resistor packages?? I know it can be done, but are there reliability issues? We are in the middle of a new product and the question was posed to me "Can we use 2512 1 watt resistors on the bottom

Also the preheating of the board is done to help evaporate any water/alcohol that is in the flux - water is a big problem in No-clean processes. From our experience, a temp range around 200f - no more than 220f is ideal for the bigger boards, but tem

The first thing is all the TSOP suppliers like Intel do not rate the parts at normal temperature used in wave soldering. The spec is less than 230C so you have the reliability issue to consider and no one to blame when they do not work. You also have

Rework Flux

GUYS HOW SAFE IS IT TO USE RMA FLUX WHICH IS DESIGNED FOR WAVE SOLDERING, TO USE FOR TOUCH-UP/REWORK ? CURRENTLY ALL OUR OPERATORS HAVE LITTLE RE-FILLABLE BOTTLES AND GO AND FILL THEM UP FROM THE FLUX CONTAINERS ( I'M NOT EVEN TOO SURE WHETHER OR NO
