If you are happy with DEK I would stick with that. I'd look at an ELA or a Horizon model 03...which is their stripped down Horizon version. You can buy a new one of those in the $60K range...used obviously less. The only other vendor I would look a

Mike You get what you ask for. We ask for 0.001 inch minimum. If your supplier's published process range allows thickness below 0.001 inch minimum, you need to define your own acceptance criterion. We don't use average measurements in lot inspect

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 13 05:12:52 EST 2006 | Rob

As long as you trust that the component vendor is honest & diligent (possibly add this to your vendor rating criterea?) In the UK we have a 'RoHS Trusted' Kitemark from the British Standards institute that distributors can apply for to show this. I

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 16 09:15:40 EST 2006 | russ

I can't see why it would be any different, You are melting the balls into reflow to the pad. In my opinion, paste is only useful in this situation to keep the part on the board during placement along with some planarity concerns in some instances.
