Immersion White Tin

Electronics Forum | Mon May 14 14:34:05 EDT 2007 | rgduval

I have to agree with Jax. We've had some successes, and some horrible failures using white-tin. Generally in solderability, and apparently related to the somewhat more rapid deterioration of white-tin finishes. We've run white-tin as an SMT only

I would like to address several issues. First, your reflow is 150 PPM for the same exact assemblies that have lower PPM's? or are you giving a 150 PPM rating for all products produced through the reflow process in a specific time period? Reflow is a

LGa soldering issues......

Good Morning, I have been struggling with this part for some time now. I have to agree that whoever designed this part, did not have to manufacture with it. We have advanced to a point where they have a acceptable yield but I believe that will be hi

Re: Soldering to Gold

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 17 15:01:05 EDT 1999 | Dave F

| | We have some SMT components with gold plated leads. They're actually LCC led packages. A good solder alloy to use would be Indium / Lead to reduce tin dissolution into the gold and avoid the resultant brittle intermetallic compound. However, a re

You said: "how come do i calculate the money for one chip mounting. I really want to know that. Maybe someone already has it. Shortly speaking , CALCULATION EQUATION FOR 1 CHIP MOUNTING COST IN SMT PROCESS." So, I gave you equations for calculating

Re: Recycling Solder Paste?

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 12 16:26:01 EDT 1999 | Jeff Sanchez

| | | | We have three buckets filled with leftover solder paste from our screen printing process. Kester has informed me that they no longer take paste, but only dross and pot dumpings. Does anyone know if there's someplace I can recycle this, or a

Now that we know where you've been and what you wish to accomplish next, I can still give you some suggestions. 1. Get IPC-7912. Use it to evaluate your CM's. Especially if you have multiple contractors supplying like products. You will quickly see

Chris, Some ramblings- Your choice depends on factors like which defects you're looking for, bugdet, quality inspection philosophy, high or low mix environment, sample sizes or 100%, and so on. Are you going to test 100% of the product coming off t

Solder Paste Printed Volume

1. The formula for cubic area (LxWxH) applies to get the expected volume target value. Caution- do not assume the pad surface square are is correct for the part. Do consider the footprint of the device beign placed and its solder requirements to cre
