ERSA versa as alternative to wave soldering in low vol high mix

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 29 11:42:35 EDT 2005 | pr

If you are talking about smt components I'd say absolutely not. If these are through hole components I'd say possibly (if they are in rows, and not a whole lot of them). The machine is slow, but the quality is great. Creating a wave profile takes abo

PCB's for oven profile testing

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 26 20:33:50 EDT 2002 | davef

Not as such. Generally, people tailor their profiles to produce glam solder connections on their boards. Search the fine SMTnet Archives for discussion on the factors affecting solder reflow recipes. What is the best way to get these PCB made to s

Solder wave

Since your budget is between 25 and 30K I would say you have plenty of options. Electrovert and Vitronics are both good solid machines. Seho is another option. Seho is extremely user frendly and maintenance freindly and easy to profile however, it is

Re: Screen printing glue for wave soldering SMT components.

Electronics Forum | Fri May 26 05:54:40 EDT 2000 | Sal

For the past year now we have been printing adhesive with no real problems. Our printing ranges from 0603's to SOIC using a variation of aperture sizes and metal thickness foils. The crucial parameters are : aperture sizes : These obviously depend o

Dr Lee's book mentioned above is very good. Also consider: IPC-7530 - Guidelines for Temperature Profiling for Mass Soldering (Reflow and Wave)

Reflow profile negative temp ramp rates

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 09 08:44:43 EDT 2002 | davef

Read IPC-7530 "Guidelines for Temperature Profiling for Mass Soldering Processes (Reflow & Wave)". There is no advantage in dropping off much faster than 4C/sec. In fact, you risk fracturing your newly formed solder connections due to board warping

Right angle PTH lead profile = blowholes

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 18 09:34:06 EST 2008 | realchunks

Try lifting the part with a small piece of paper. I've seen caps that did this and giving the flux a way to vent out the top side of the board got rid of the blow holes. It'll take ya 2 seconds to to try - that plus the 3 minutes to wave solder.

Selective soldering

Hello, I am not familiar with Inertec but have some expirience with selective soldering process, My oppinion is that the wave and slective soldering are not the same game. In Selctive soldering process is very important the layout design. If use th

BGA soldering

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 27 16:58:34 EST 2003 | Stephen

The most common way is to screen print paste for the SMT placement, then then SMT placement then reflow then TH placement followed by wave solder. You won't be able to screen print for the BGA after reflow unless you use a mini stencil. Or you co

Selecting wave solder

I think SEHO GoWave 1030 is better than ERSA ETS 330. The SEHO GoWave 1030 is a powerful soldering system for mass soldering applications. It's used for all types of soldering.
