Hi DaveF, To explain. The BGA that we have is from Motorola. The solder balls of these BGA's are Eutectic Solder and processed using a NC flux (as per info from supplier). So this means that the BGA pad and solder connections had NC flux process. W

We have some BGA's that don't solder very well. They weren't properly stored in regards to moisture protection. The balls look dull and rough. After reflow there seemed to be a diffinate line between the balls and the solder on the PCB's. I think

Sure, it�s fine to use the proper amount of flux and no solder when reworking BGA. Recognize that these new solder connections have less metal and a lower standoff than similar BGA solder connections that have not been reworked. This undoubtedly
