is there a posibilities that a lead solder sticked on the pot can be absorbed by a potato when you placed it on the solder pot. to be able to use the pot for leadfree solder.

A potato is: * 80 percent water * 20 percent solids Temperature: * Water boils at ~100*C * Your solder pot ~240*C If you want to try this experiment, talk someone else into doing it while you're on break.

Slightly related story....my dad (vision not so good) put a gallon of WATER in with 4 gallons of cooking oil to deep fry a turkey. Of course the water was on the bottom and when it started boiling, whoooheeee!
