SN100C vs. SAC 305 wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 31 12:27:27 EST 2006 | Marcus

We have used the SN100C for over a year now with fanastic results. We use the SAC305 for SMT and SN100C wire exclusively. There are no problem mixing the alloys. I am also on the commitee for the NASA testing. The SN100C did out perform SAC and SnPb

We had x-ray and optical microscopy analyses done on transformers dip soldered with Sn/Pb, SN100C3 and SN100C4 alloys using temperatures 400C ... 450 C, with dip times of 2..4 seconds. We found that SN100C4 is at least as good as Sn/Pb 62/38 and SN

Need SN100C Reliability & Process comments!

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 24 14:44:17 EST 2006 | Mike H

We are deciding on using SN100C on leadfree wave soldering process. As always I am a little worried when materials are not proven or lack of data! I like to see what you guys (not sales people) think about SN100C alloy, specially if you have been usi

SACX vs. SN100C

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 17 08:49:02 EDT 2006 | russ

Hi Paul, not to throw a wrench in here but I beleive that paople are talking about switching from SAC in wave to SN100C, NOT SACx, these are different. and should not be confused. SACx is supposed to fall somewhere in the middle of the SN100C and t

Steps to Convert SAC305 Wave Solder Pot to SN100C

Electronics Forum | Mon Sep 29 21:32:52 EDT 2008 | bobsavenger

I was wondering if someone could tell me the steps they went through to convert a SAC305 Wave Solder pot over to SN100C. I'm having wave solder problems with SAC305 and I'm considering a change to SN100C. Didn't know if it was a -in replacement or

Sn100C - anyone use this at Reflow?

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 12 13:20:07 EDT 2009 | ck_the_flip

Before anyone tells me to search the fine archives, I already did! I typed Sn100c and Reflow, and nothing came up. Anyway, any of your folks out there run Sn100C across the board - Reflow, Wave and/or Selective, and Hand-Soldering? If so, please p

LF Wave Solder - SN100C or ????

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 27 09:43:42 EST 2012 | andrzej

We use succesfully SN100C on ERSA330 for about 2-3years. Pros: - price, - less dross comparing to SAC305, - some ppl say better mechanical durability comparing to SAC305 (depends who pay for "independent" studies) Cons: - higher melting temp so r

SN100C vs. SAC 305 wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 29 22:19:36 EST 2005 | Joseph

We have tested SN100C for LF wave soldering process since August'05 and currently start production for a month ago. Initially we use SAC305, but due to the shrinkage cavities (micro-crack) we changeover to SN100C. In summary, SN100C did perform well

SN100C: High Temp

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 19 23:29:29 EST 2006 | theSaint

I've seen many comments in many threads about the positive attributes of SN100C (apparently mostly by salesmen). However, I have a concern for the higher temps that will be encountered when using SN100C (or Sn/Cu) vs. SAC305 (vs. 63/37), specifica

Conversion from SAC305 to SN100C

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 04 03:30:56 EST 2009 | smartasp

Hi All We intend to switch fro SAC305 to SN100C, which has been giving us great test results. Unfortunately we have a technical guy at head quarter, which refuses to accept the SN100C as it has a 10 deg C higher melting point as SAC. I argue besides
