I need to know the recommended pad layout for a 44r package. The part is an atmel flash AT49F004. Is there a standard that I can look at?

Garth: There is no standard. Try the component supplier for a first cut at the pad layout. They should know better than anyone. Good luck. Dave F

Brian You're quite right. I frequently break this formula. The source recommends it as an almost assured success rather than an absolute. Given all the variables involved Steve should use it as a reality check and then just see what works. John T

We do not have experience soldering to the PVD surface you plan to use. We use Titanium [Ti] stiffeners in wave soldering and our wave equipment manufacturer uses Ti fingers, nozzles, pump blades, and other parts, because solder doesnt stick to Ti.

May I ask what component types you are using and who the suppliers are? FYI - If the components have exceeded their shelf life, they may have oxidized too much for soldering using low activity fluxes. Thanks and best regards, SR

Hi, The brightest ones that I use are Luxeon LEDs which are rated at 5W, which is pretty bright for an LED, you can't look at them when they're on. Heres the link http://www.luxeon.com/gallery/?filter=luminaires

What is your application / need. I believe I could get you SMT LED's brighter and more cost effective than any of those.

Hi Doug, Can they be mounted on standard FR4 PCBs & reflowed at Lead Free temperatures? Cheers, Rob.

Yes, Loctite 3880. It works out at about $160 for a tube of 30ml. It can be dispensed or printed. We found you needed a lot less than with solder as it doesn't wick or spread much.
