I forgot to mention the new vcd and radials go for around $230,000 each with only 20 stations. You can buy nice used vcd8 and rad8's between $60,000-$75,000.

Yes. Typically terminals, large relays, displays, parts with mounted heatsinks. This is typically what you see on hand-insertion lines. Other parts with specialized packaging may not be able to be auto-inserted either. Most axial and radial leade

Hi Dean, Thanks for the feedback. I suppose I should reveal the nature of my query. Contact Systems was founded by my father back in 1970. I worked there from 1983 until we closed the doors back in 2009. I acquired the assets and intellectual pro

The modular inserters usually have them built into the feeders, which is part of why each feeder is so expensive. I'm sure I saw one system with a separate clinch unit but they are all dog slow compared to a rad 5 or 8 or 6241D+.

Yes, my research and feedback from one supplier in particular is that their feeders can preform, cut and clinch (although I'm not sure why you would need the clinch). We will be sending them a small kit to demonstrate to us (online) its capabilities

Hi Barry, One consideration that you may want to consider is the lead to hole ratio. The higher the ratio, the less solder is required to fill in the gaps and give you a fillet. Heat is a concern. You will need to ensure components will take the he

Most of the PTH components are manually inserted. Some are auto-placed by our UIC machine. The parts are preped before install, so there is no need to trim the leads afterwards. The boards go through wave solder. The UIC machine has a clincher on

Hi J_Dub (Joe), Thanks for the input. Sounds like some fairly densely populated through hole assemblies. 100 solder joints per board is up to 50 parts per board (I know you may have DIP's so it could be less than 50). 24 boards in a panel x 50 par
