Somewhat vague on error message; obviously has to do with RS Table travel (making sensors at anticipated time) but need to know timing of error incidents and specific error.

Pcb Drill Hole as Fiducial

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 20 14:39:59 EST 2018 | harlymh

Is it good practice to use a PCB mechanical drill hole as local fiducial? Would it increase my placement accuracy? Or should I stick to my panel fiducials? We're using a panel with 4 boards and we're trying to reach a 50 microns accuracy.

Proper fiducials are going to be more accurate than drill holes. Since drilling is a separate step in the PCB fab process, the registration to the PCB isn't as accurate as the copper etching process which forms the fiducials. In a pinch, it can be u

If it's a plated hole though, you can use the ring around it, which should be as accurate as a copper fiducial. just know that any plated hole with a trace coming off of it will have a "tail" and it might throw the computer off when scanning.

Techspray 2108-12S

I need an estimation of how many cans of Techspray 2108-12S, 12oz aerosol spray I need to coat 50 array panels of 5.25"x7" (2up)FAB for the conformal coating. Need the answer in a hurry.

Stencil-less printing?

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 27 07:53:13 EST 2018 | cyber_wolf

A stencil prints thousands of apertures in one squeegee stroke. Stencils can be bought for less than 200.00 Even in a prototyping application I cannot see where a machine like that could be cost effective.

With saving time and space. With having the possibility to change any aperture at any time. With having the chance to apply different deposits on the same assembly or the same part. A stencil printer is not for free as well and it needs consumables t

Stencil-less printing?

That's the crux of it. We have volume and prototype lines & use a lot of stencils, so would be better for us just to get a stencil cutting machine for a similar price. However if we just did low volume /prototypes then we could make a case for it.
