What happens to the flux and pads on the second side of a double sided board during the first reflow? It seems to me like the solder would dome and the flux would be used up and migrated to other areas. Russ

I have been seeing this with a new BGA we have just started using from IBM. Is this a problem if the solder paste is wetted to the unreflowed BGA balls??? It passed our ESS testing with no problems.... TIA JD

We do perform multiple reflow only for reliability testing. 90% of the time we have not seen any change in the solder joint and no change in electricals. If you do see failure you might want to see the solderability of the surface finish too.. jus

Well, another alternative is to use a water washable flux. If you insist on staying with a NC flux, use one that is probable. We prefer to probe solder, rather than copper.
