"Space saver frame takes same space as Vector Guard." I believe this is the case if you store the VG foil in a box, otherwise the VG should be thinner than the space saver.

We do have a CyberOptics SQ3000 that is currently only used for AOI, but I hope to start doing sample 3D SPI with it soon.

Correct. The box size is the same as the space saver frame. VG rack is additional expense as well as supporting the VG frames. I have done VG for 5 years and never going back to it. Space saver is the better way.
