Trust me Peter, I've put my time in with the EM! I'll be a happy camper when they'll set up the search to include/exclude by location. It's less a matter of knowing what's out there and more about knowing what will suit all of our needs best.

APEX Venue!!

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 01 18:46:05 EST 2007 | fastek

I'm having a difficult time understanding the need anymore for a West Coast show going forward. Other than tradition, let's face it.....there is much more going on in the midwest these days. All and all....I don't see much of a future in Southern C

Looking for help with Fuji IP-1 start-up problem

Electronics Forum | Sun Jan 21 13:36:31 EST 2007 | jgarver1

Bert, Sounds like the CPU in your IP 1 needs replaced. I have seen the exact same issue a few times over the years. Only fix I came up with was replacing the CPU. Contact me if you would like to buy a functional used replacement. Thanks, Jared

Nonwetting Components - why won't components wet to solder?

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 25 12:18:40 EST 2007 | wagoner

There are several smd components in our factory that don't reliably wet to solder during reflow. Paste and placement are good, but the component won't wet reliably. All of the other components on the boards solder fine, but one of these components

QFN - FCT failed after reflow

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 07 09:37:48 EST 2007 | billyd

Had the very same thing happen the first time we used the small QFNs. The aperture for the thermal pad in the center needs to be cut in a grid form, either squares (with around a 10 mil spacing between openings) or circles, like a BGA pattern. Too mu

Printing off contact

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 09 07:51:09 EST 2007 | jax

If the attack was unwarranted I apologize. I still stick to my answer. Unless the board shop can get rid of it you have to find a way to deal with it. Etching trace paths into the stencils is inexpensive and works just fine. If you do not have the ti

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 09 02:41:12 EST 2007 | Muhammad Haris

1. Can X-Ray Inspection System damage the EPROM OR OTP during inspection after Reflow? 2. At 300 degree Centigrade, program in the EPROM OR OTP disturb. Is that true? 3. Sometimes, if some ICs couldnt program first time then I put that IC in oven

simple doubt about reflow profile

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 12 13:01:09 EST 2007 | campos

Hi all,, I running SMQ230 solder paste with a time above = 40sec with peak temperature = 239 degrees .. the complete reflow takes almost 6 min with a slope (150to190) close to .60 degrees/sec .. may I have some concern about that or it's ok?? tks..

Pb Free Voids

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 13 15:20:12 EST 2007 | billyd

Fellas: I'm having a tough time with voiding with my lead free water soluble paste under my large BGAs. I know some is almost inevitable, but this is more than I'd like. This is with a slope of .9, soak of 60 seconds, above 217 for 85 seco
