BGA and PCB finishing

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 14 05:02:35 EST 2000 | emmanuel

I am to implement PBGA, and i am looking for PCB surface finish informations. A lot of technical reports are specifing NiAu finishing because of flatness property. Because of leads shape, I though that BGA doesn't need flat pads like QFP. Is it false

Min Hole/Pad distance to edge of PCB

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 13 15:10:52 EST 2000 | Stuart Adams

Assuming agressive design rules what is the minimum distance I can get away with between the board edge and a SMT pad and between the board edge and a plated mounting hole ??? (The board is only 1"x2" and the mounting holes are 80 mil dia, 125 mil

Stu, it is good you know that there are limitations and you want everything. Wish our designers work like that. So, the limitations we impose are dictated by the rails of the insertion and dispensing machines. Normally a .150" keepout will make a s

Sorry, I went dyslectic of the doc numbers, but you get what I mean (I hope): * J-STD-001B was released October 1996 * J-STD-033A was released April 1999 Without belaboring the point further, J-STD-001C is current and contains references to J-STD-

If an operator loaded a wrong value of component with the same packaging, say 0805, on a feeder slot. how will the program verify this situation? or an operator interchanged 2 0805 capacitors with different values from feeder slot #5 and feeder slot

Cim system is what we used on cp6 d axis tables. It worked very well.I liked it and it was for pre run and during run feeder feeding.Uses a barcode reader and reads bottom of d axis where barcode are to match what is assigned to a slot by pre scanning

Jeff, The problem you are describing MAY be related to the push up pin setting on your component feeder units. Please verify that the push up pin height is set correctly for the feeder units, and the nozzle pick-up and placement heights are to the c

Dave, Your response might have been helpful if you would have left off the extra, comical(?), comments. I am American and I still couldn't figure out what you were trying to say sometimes. Searching the web to find an ESD program and training seem

Re: Pallet For PCB

Breakaways are clearly the best solution for us in manufacturing. A big difference between wavesolder pallets and SM pallets is the need for a flush top surface for stencil to PCB contact in the printer. One vendor has a device which hold the PCB
