ISO Registered vs ISO Certified

ISO - if you build a shitty product - it would be the same shitty product. It is a useless thing and people go around it while following it.

Potting/Conformal Coating

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 26 17:31:02 EST 2016 | caurbach

Rob, Have you considered doing multiple dips to build the coating thickness up to what your customer thinks is good? We've done this on a small handful of products for several years. Extends your lead time, but it doesn't need to fully cure betwee

SMT Carrier tape organization

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 22 13:05:01 EDT 2016 | cyber_wolf

Hi, I am looking to re-organize our component taping area. Is there any commercial carrier tape storage solutions or is it pretty much up to me to design and build something ? Thanks in advance.

Electrostatic Discharge due to Compressed Air

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 06 08:22:57 EDT 2016 | lukvel

I am using compressed air to dry my PCBs and to remove dust from my PCBs. This is causing electrostatic build up on the PCBs. What do you suggest rather than an Ionized Air Gun?

Shop Floor WIP Control

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 29 10:14:51 EST 2016 | swag

We use Access database. Works well but you have to custom build everything you want to track as it's not specifically designed for electronics mfg. You need someone in house who's good with that stuff.

How difficult is it to switch from a no-clean solder paste to a water soluble solder paste between builds on SMT line?

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 31 17:13:04 EDT 2017 | dontfeedphils

Clean everything to do with the print process during the switch adequately and you shouldn't have an issue.

GSM1 Y Axis Limit Switch

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 28 18:16:44 EDT 2017 | ttheis

Try cleaning the linear encoder reader. I've had dust build up on two of my machines resulting in failure to calibrate. Blowing out the reader heads with gentle compressed air resolved it.

AOI for through-hole?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 10 08:24:51 EDT 2017 | philc

Is anyone using an AOI machine for through-hole checking? We have a need to check post-build on some PCBs', but there doesn't seem to be any obvious AOI solution. Is there such a beast available?

Image Sensor Connectors

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 20 09:24:34 EDT 2017 | leeg

We are due to build a board with a few of the Andon Image Sensor Connectors on and was wondering whether anyone has any experience of these devices? Manufacturing guides, inspection guides and rework guides?
