Just an FYI regarding the 8080 buffers: When you replace the lithium battery in the display module, replace the one in the PLC as well. Of course, you will need the machine turned on when replacing the batteries.

correct, I also tried swapping motherboard but still same result. i the mean time i found battery leakage on Eurosys X1, replaced battery but now it won't start communication on machine initialization. got to repair it or something...

Hi Prem, We used to place millions of Nickel battery tabs using Cobar paste. We found it particularly aggressive. Just contact your local Cobar distributor and ask them for samples of their most aggressive fluxed paste. Kind regards, Rob.

My research taught me that most older 486 motherboards have a similar CMOS substitution chip that you can purchase, or modify the one you have with a battery as shown.

I'm glad it was successful. According to them, the cmos setting was preserved. If the battery is completely discharged, it must be restored to the original state. The setup menu should work, but then there was no need for it.

have swapped 2 different boards, can try switching the dram sticks, or ordering new ones. also the cmos battery on the motrola communications battery was dead, put a new one in, was wondering if there was a cmos reset/ jumper?
