Reflow profiling Units

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 12 16:49:56 EDT 2006 | Brad Courtemanche

Good Afternoon, I'm am probably asking a question that has been answered a million times but I am looking for other operators and process engineer feedback on the slim kic 2000 profiling unit. I have played with the unit several times and am not to s

Thermal Profilers

I agree with Idumont.....KIC works great for me, it has 9 inputs, and is pretty good at predicting the direction that you may need to tweak your profile, the only thing is I think that these untis ( slim kic 2000) are fairly spendy. not sure though,

SMT Reflow temp

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 16 13:35:20 EDT 2015 | swiese242

This has been a challenge for most manufacturers. It depends on board thickness, lead or lead free paste/parts. We have a slim-kic to get the profiles correct in our 14 zone oven. I believe it may be the recently posted suggestion of too much heat in

Problem measuring parallelism wave

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 08 14:56:09 EST 2011 | rkr76

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding wavesoldering and measuring if a proces/machine is in control. I made a custom carrier for measuring contact time, parallelism, solder temperature, coveyorspeed and some data of the preheat section. The s

Your profile must be precise, your stencil aperture sizes and shapes are very important, and the size of the pads on the boards should be very close to what the part manufacturer recommends. We had some trouble with hi-temp paste, and discovered tha

Re: feeder width

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 30 11:39:59 EST 1999 | Stefan Witte

| Hello, | | I'm a student assistant in a research project that deals with the simulation of PCB assembly systems. At the moment I collect information about SMDs. | My problem is how to assign the correct feeder width to various devices in a simulat

System is too slow, Will memory/speed increase do job?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 06 10:21:23 EDT 2005 | slthomas

XP needs at least 256Mb of RAM, preferably 512. I think 1Gb would be overkill, especially with a 133 memory speed. It sounds like a dual boot configuration...if you don't need W98 on the machine, why don't you just dump it and get a clean install of

SPC for Wave solder (defects on PCB's)

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 15 13:44:34 EST 2006 | samir

Bingo! In my career, I've used Wave Solder optimizer and the WaveRIDER. Pro's and Con's to both. I did a GR&R on both as well, and WaveRIDER came out on top. The main challenge is to get the operators to use it. I've found that the operators wer

Wave flux and profiling

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 15 18:36:46 EST 2006 | Grant

Hi, I have noticed we are getting residue on our wave pcb's and it's worse with lead free, since we changed to the flux we are using. We are currently using Avantec VOC Free flux model Ecofree 303. It looks like it's made in Malaysia. Does anyone h

CSM84 doorway ?

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 28 23:21:54 EST 2007 | jmelson

Thanks for the data. That looks like the numbers I've seen, but the machine I have bid on (gulp) is an 84 with no suffix. I doubt that changes the dimensions, though. But, what I am trying to find out is if covers and panels can be removed to thin
