We are continuing to struggle with voids under BGA's. Our problem are not consistent. some CCA's are perfect but others have pin hole sized voids. Does anyone have any feedback on Indium 92j and how it performs for bga's?

We've had similar problems with Indium 6.2 water soluble paste. We reduced our voiding by implementing a longer soak and lower peak temperature.

We have used this paste for about 6 months. It performs very well in a variety of conditions. FYI: Before the 92J we used 92 for about 6 years or so. The 92J is definitely better.

Are you running a water soluble process? There may have been an instance where a certain Xtal could not be washed. We have always waved Xtals like Dave without fear.

Has anyone here had direct experience using this oven for Lead Free? I am considering purchasing one, but I want to be certain it will handle low volume lead free work. Pete

davef is right, what we have done is that for every step in the flowchart we made a separate FMEA. Not only machine and process steps but also warehouse and product handling, identification, etc.

We utilize something called value stream mapping. It's actually quite simple and works well. You can do a search for it on the web.
